Since its creation in 1998, AIW has been a welcoming network for Angers residents with an international outlook, whether they are new arrivals or long-time residents.
This is achieved through, among other things, its range of friendly and original activities, described below.

Meet up after work to share a drink in a relaxed atmosphere. The venue changes every season. Open to everyone, foreigners and French nationals, members and non-members alike, you are all welcome!
Happy hour
Once a quarter, discover a friendly place in Angers to enjoy a pleasant moment with other AIW members. A festive atmosphere is guaranteed!!!

An opportunity for members to meet and chat over homemade cakes, every first Tuesday of the month

Cinema
The pleasure of discovering new French and foreign films and then sharing our impressions. Every third Tuesday of the month.
Culturel outing
Every second Thursday of the month, discover a building, museum or exhibition in Angers or the surrounding area.
Lunch time
A member hosts a friendly lunch, with conversation in English, usually on the fourth Monday of the month.
Theatre
The Festival d'Anjou is the highlight of the theatre season. France's second largest theatre festival, it takes place in June with performances in magical venues such as the Château du Plessis-Macé and the Arènes de Doué.
Hiking
Another way to discover Anjou, in a relaxed atmosphere, with family or friends, in good spirits.

Depuis sa création en 1998, AIW Angers International Welcome est un vrai réseau d’accueil pour les angevins ayant une ouverture internationale qu’ils soient nouveaux arrivants ou déjà installés
AIW accueille les nouveaux arrivants en Anjou, peut les accompagner dans les premières étapes de leur installation et aide les entreprises dans l’accompagnement de leurs collaborateurs étrangers et de leur famille,
AIW intègre par le biais des nombreuses activités qu’elle propose,
AIW réunit la communauté professionnelle internationale pour former un réseau et une force vive au sein du tissu économique angevin.
Plus de 150 personnesfont actuellement partie de l’association AIWet représententune quinzaine de pays (Allemagne, Argentine, Canada, Côte d’Ivoire,Espagne, Etats-Unis, France, Grande Bretagne, Italie, Suède, Pays-Bas, Pologne, Russie, Vietnam, Le Liban).

A city of art and history Angers boasts many art galleries, museums and places of historic interest:
The castle of the dukes of Anjou, one of the most spectacular fortresses in France. A place where you can also see the famous tapestries of the Apocalypse, the biggest remaining set of medieval tapestries in the world,
The Abbey Toussaint was built in the 13th century and was magnificently restored in 1984, with the bold addition of a glass roof. Today this abbey is home to the works of the sculptor Pierre-Jean David (1788-1856) and is known as the David d’Angers Gallery.
The Museum of Fine Arts, (which, outside Paris, is the 4th biggest museum in France) was ranked best museum of West France by the ‘Journal des Arts’ in 2010,
