AIW Angers visits local businesses in Angers with Made In Angers

For 2026, Doris has suggested visits to four companies in Angers, namely:

TH Industrie

It was a bit tricky to find from the street, as there were no signs nearby to indicate the site. We had to rely on the number on the letterbox. A very interesting tour with a director who is passionate about his work, machines in operation and finished items, some of which we were able to buy (sponge holders, vases, etc.). We were also treated to a full history of 3D printing.

Nuances de Chocolat

An easy-to-find business, accessible by bus. A wonderful lesson in taste that gave us the chance to discover high-end chocolates with very subtle nuances of flavour. A very clear presentation of the different stages of working with cocoa, explaining the differences in quality depending on the soil, climate, bean drying, roasting and conching. A very dynamic and welcoming team.

Le Quai

After discussing the building’s history and the original intentions behind its establishment on the Quai de la Savatte (to revitalise a neighbourhood with a poor reputation), our guide showed us the three auditoriums and the backstage areas, explaining the sets and how they are operated. He also gave us a glimpse of Le Quai’s very rich programme (theatre, dance, music). It certainly made us want to go back. You realise that in an artistic profession, you need to have a real passion and be resourceful. A very cheerful guide who was delighted to answer all our questions

'Radio Campus Angers'

A lively and cheerful duo (a journalist and a radio technician) showed us how they record a programme, with hands-on live broadcasting exercises for the participants. They also highlighted the constraints faced by their community radio station (the required percentage of French songs, regularly mentioning the station’s name, and producing programmes for a very diverse audience, including children, immigrants and people with disabilities). Hats off to them!
